OPHIOPOGONIS
"Ophiopogonis" (Mai Dong), is a game designed by students studying at LCC in collaboration with GSMD students: Lin (level design and coding), Jun (narrative and aesthetics), Eva Donoghue (sound design). This project consisted of multiple levels with a variety of soundtracks shown on the right of the video above.

ANDREA
The 2024 Derry Halloween event themed "City of Bones", transforming the historic Walled City into a vibrant celebration of folklore, imagination and community spirit. This composition was chosen and featured in the "Awakening the Walled City" trail, illuminating the city's streets that brought local myths and legends to life.
The "Blackpool Illuminations" project displays stunning visuals projected on to different buildings and monuments, complemented by beautiful musical soundtracks.
This project for commercial film production company sought to find a composer to create a soundtrack for a new independent film. This project aimed to incorporate Celtic folklore to complement the Cumbrian setting of the story. ​​​​ "For this project, I drew inspiration from the rich tapestry of Celtic folklore inherent to the Cumbrian setting, channeling it into a violin solo that echoes the expressive quality of a traditional fiddle. This is paired with a cello solo, crafted to evoke a sense of dialogue and resonate deeply with Andrea’s character and background. To further enhance the atmospheric tension, I incorporated subtle mechanical soundscapes within the music, including an unsettling element - distorted baby cries - that underscores the haunting undertones of the narrative.
RACHEL PORTMAN
ANIMATION
This project was constructed around composing a soundtrack and scoring for existing works already scored by famous film composer, Rachel Portman. This project gave the opportunity to record with the LSO.
BAKUNAWA
This beautiful animation by CalArts student Justine Alameda brings to life the story of a woman tempted by a mysterious sea serpent. The immersive sound design, crafted by Euan Su, enhances the emotional depth and tension of the piece, drawing viewers even further into its haunting world.
HANAKO
This bittersweet animation by CalArts student Shannon tells a story of a ghost girl locked in a bathroom. There is an overarching theme of longing for freedom which is concluded with the girl finding her own way to cope without changing her reality.
